Together with Bart Leleij I have written a whitepaper on request of Facto Magazine entitled: "Aan de slag met sensortechnologie voor een slimmer gebouw".

Sensortechnology, Internet of Things (IoT) and big data contribute to an efficient set-up of sustainable building management. This whitepaper describes the steps to arrive at a smart building that saves costs and offers employees an optimal workenvirionment.

Following the Trendrapport Belgium 2015, I have written an article for a column on the website of Building Holland entitled: "Smart Buildings en de veranderende rol van de facility manager."

Building systems in corporate real estate have gone through an evolution from Primitive via Simpel and Automated to Intelligent and now Smart. The definition of an intelligent building first appeared in the New York Times in 1984: buildings that almost think for themselves. Because of the technological developments Intelligent was no longer sufficient and hence the term Smart Building was established. The main characteristic of Smart Buildings is that they integrate the indivual building management systems and link them with ICT systems and Facility software. On request of IFMA I have written a column in the report that was crreated by PROCOS. My contribution is about the evolution of Smart-Buildings and how the FM profession changes due to further digitization of building and integration of building systems with the grid.

The report itself is introduced as follows:
"IFMA Belgian Chapter and PROCOS Group, consultants in Facility Management, joined forces to research the Facility Management Market in Belgium
We hope the results of the research will improve the knowledge of Facility Management in Belgium. Too many decision makers, politicians, civil service managers and corporate organizations are not always aware of the role and importance of Facility Management as a profession. "

On invitation of IFMA Belgium Chapter I have spoken as CoreNet representative about Smart Buildings. And in consultation with Deloitte I have shown a video of their new building The Edge, plus following that video given a bit of background information about this Smart and Sustainable building.

The other speakers were Joeri Uyttendale of Actilty NV/SA who showed us the world of Long Range sensors and Joachim Kiauk from Siemens who shared information about building The Crystal in Londen. Following our presentations we all have participated in a panel discussion with the delegates.

Following a generic "commercial about CoreNet Global" I participated as moderator of a session consisting specifically of subjects and speakers in Corporate Real Estate. Doing the introductions, connecting speakers and wrapping-up the session.

As responsible for the SAP office in Utrecht I was interviewed for a promotion movie by Elvire Rovers, CEO of Supella Property DPS. Participated in EFMC 2011 in Vienna. After delivering a short introduction presentation with the title "Corporate Real Estate Management" , I articipated in a discussion about definitions "One client, one environment, many forms of Management".
